The Department of Commerce determined that approximately 70% of all new businesses fail within the first year and 95% fail within the first five years. They further determined that this high mortality rate is largely due to the fact that individual talents are concentrated in one specific area. For example, a person can bea marketing genius, but lack the ability to develop a cost-effective delivery program to their customers. Another person might be an
excellent administrator, but lack the imagination to design and implement an effective marketing plan. In both cases this lack of knowledge makes it necessary to revert to "trial and error" business development. Not a good choice when financial resources are at stake.
The small percentage of new businesses that do survive these initial difficult years, recognize and compensate for their weaknesses by making a timely
investment. They buy into a franchise with a proven, comprehensive system for delivering products and services that is also dedicated to the success of each individual business owner as part of a dynamic partnership.
